I spent pretty much the entirety of last weekend driving cross-country, which is really tiring, and the weekend before at VGM Con, so I was a little fried as this week started. Starting after I wrap up here, I'm planning to take my first weekend off for relaxation that I think I've had in... at least a month? Looking forward to that as I could use the R&R.
This was a great week for easy wins. We've got a number of new vfx in the game, including a glitch effect that happens when you have collisions at high speed, a creeping ice effect to tell you you're on bad terrain (specifically, rough ice that slows you down), and some early models for what will hopefully be the final evolution of the game's turbo items and boostpads, which look pretty good already and should be very shiny when they're completely finished.
My time was spent primarily on marketing conversations and more admin stuff. With the tax season FINALLY coming to a close, I'm hoping I'll be able to do a little less of that going forward, but time will tell. I was also able to get some video clips together for our teaser trailer and finish the modifications to make another piece work for the teaser as well, and then spend a little time in the project proper testing some functionality the team was waiting on me for, most of which thankfully worked perfectly the first time!
So again, a short update this week, but work proceeds apace.
