Final Groove concept art
Final Groove concept art

This was one of those weeks where it just felt like a whole lot of pieces started coming together.

We have the blockout done for the second phase of the trailer level. I haven't played it yet, but it looks very promising.

We made a lot of progress on the speed zones, interactive guitar representations that appear in the trailer levels, and they are working visually - just need polish.

We got progress in on the drone assets that will be fighting the war in the first phase of the trailer level.

I got my new Steam ID all set up and identity-validated so we can get our Coming Soon page up on Steam and start taking wishlists.

Did the final bit of polish that was left over from the PRE system rewrite in December to clear out old code and restore some functionality that broke in December, clearing the way to push out a new prototype update, which at the very latest I will have done by the end of next week.

Locked in the suite of new boost sound effects (completed the task in our project software) and have some very cool vehicle-on-vehicle collision noises now, along with several smaller tweaks to the audio logic, plus got some requirements together for how we're going to handle reverb (thankfully it looks like a per-phase approach with the option to set override volumes should work just fine for us on this particular project).

And last but certainly not least, the crowning achievement of this week is finally finally finally locking in the concept art for the rear view of the new mascot vehicle, Groove, which you can see in the image at the top of this post. If you're interested, I went in to great detail about what all the lights and lines are (they are all functional things, none of it is strictly decorative) out in the Discord:
